How long have you been in business?
The Childrens Museum of Cleveland was first established in 1981 by a coalition of parents, educators and civic leaders. Over the past two decades, the Museum has evolved from merely providing outreach programs and one traveling exhibit, to being known as the only cultural and educational resource completely dedicated to young children in the Cleveland area.
What is your primary product or service?
In line with community, market, and societal needs, The Childrens Museum of Cleveland is dedicated to providing unique & innovative, experiences, exhibits, and education programming that will foster learning and development in all children ages birth-8.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
I love watching and engaging kids in learning. I firmly believe in Learning through Play. I appreciate the balance between education and visitor service to create a meaningful and fun visitor experience. I have a generalist background with a BA in history and English from CWRU, a love of books and alternative education and I'm a mom to 2 bright eager kids.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
The Childrens Museum of Cleveland is the Northeast Ohio destination and resource for all young children, parents and caregivers to engage in fun, innovative, interactive play that accelerates the childs creativity, development and education by providing an exciting introduction to the world of cultural institutions and life long learning experiences for young children and their families.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
Our plan is to double our exhibit space and in order to do that we have purchased and will renovate a historic Cleveland building in Mid-town and will be leaving our University Circle location for this larger and more conducive accommodation. We will keep our friends and visitors updated as to our progress via our website. We remain open at our current location.

Which areas do you service?
Cuyahoga, Lake, Lorain, Summit, Geauga, Medina, Portage & Ashtabula Counties, mainly, for membership and repeat visitors. We also draw tourists from all over the country.
Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
We are a 501(c)3 non-profit with a Board of Directors. We have an Executive Director and a Director of Operations responsible for daily operations.
What are your hours of operation?
Daily, Monday through Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until 4:45 p.m. Major holidays excepted.
