How long have you been in business?
J Scott Schaffer, ChFC was first licensed in Life Insurance in 1987. Since 1994 he has been a registered representative to solicit the purchase of investments. He completed the requirements, and his continuing education requirements for the Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC designation) from the American College in Bryn Mawr, PA.
What is your primary product or service?
I serve Downtown Cleveland executives from health care and non-profit organizations, with: payroll tax savings from Secion 125, life insurance to cover business or personal loans, mortgages, and obligations; debt reduction strategies for added financial strength and security; and financial ideas for a comfortable retirement.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
I believe people can be prepared for accidents and critical illness. My grandfather was first, then my father, and now I share the work to help people eliminate debt, secure their future while they have debt, and promote a wealthy society.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
Who wants to join the effort to teach America how to be strong financially? Is there another striving to influence the direction of corporate and community support to build financially strong families? I work with executives, because they are an underserved market, and people interested in making a difference by building the community.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
Nationwide, my company has locations. There is one in Independence, and satellites in Lorain, Summit, and Lake County.

As an independent agent, I offer insurance from some of the best mutual insurance companies. The policy holders are the owners, and unused premiums and interest are returned by dividends on participating policies.
What are your hours of operation?
9 am to 5 pm Monday thru Friday, and by appointment.
