How long have you been in business?
Sweeney was established in 1986 as a new alternative to traditional marketing, advertising and public relations firms.
What is your primary product or service?
Sweeney is a full-service firm dedicated to the creation and implementation of strategy-focused marketing campaigns designed to achieve better results and a better return on the marketing investment. Every project, program and campaign is thoroughly researched and strategized prior to implementation to ensure a sound and solid foundation. Industry expertise and creative services are then applied to determine the most appropriate and impactful strategies and tactics – branding, corporate identity, direct marketing, advertising, publicity and media relations, graphic design, web design, online marketing, trade show marketing, events management and more.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
Mass communication theory and practice have been a lifelong passion of mine. I studied Communication and Journalism in college and graduated with a BA in Mass Communications. Prior to establishing Sweeney in 1986, I applied my skills in the advertising and public relations industry, serving as an account executive with Burson-Marsteller/Chicago and manager of Burson-Marsteller/Cleveland. I also held the position of vice president/manager of public relations at Griswold.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
Sweeney is absolutely unique in its business model and its approach to the business. Our focus is on relationship building and long-term impacts that deliver better results and a better return on the marketing investment. To achieve this outcome, it is critical that every communication and marketing action be rooted in a sound, reasoned strategy. It is likewise vital that every conceivable strategy be considered without bias or preference. Quality of execution - driven by trained and experienced professionals - is also an essential aspect of our business model to ensure enduring relationships and exceptional outcomes.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
Sweeney is headquartered in Cleveland, OH. The agency opened a full-service office in Wilmington, NC in 2004 to better service a constantly growing roster of clients within the Baltimore-Atlanta-Miami triangle. The agency plans to continue its growth and expansion.
